Alexis Kantor (née Drummond) is a librarian with a background in mental health counseling. As an undergraduate, she also minored in Classics.

Her first experience working in a library was as a shelving page at a public library in high school. From January to March 2020, she interned with Ganondagan State Historic Site There she implemented a cataloging system based off the ACCI Revision to Brian Deer (article pending). After graduation, she returned there as a volunteer, and was ultimately hired as the site’s first ever archivist.

When she was working in the mental health field, Alexis was employed by multiple suicide prevention hotlines. This experience taught her patience and creative thinking to solve problems. She has completed ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) twice and helped author trainings at her local hotline, 2-1-1/LIFE LINE.

When she is not working, Alexis enjoys writing, reading, and crafting. She is a volunteer with the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester’s Prison Ministry and Rochester Storybook Project, and she continues to seek agencies in the community where she can volunteer her time. She is always working on writing something she hopes to publish.
